Truecaller, the leader of caller ID identification service today rolled out a new update for its iOS app, which brings 'Flash Messaging' to iPhones. Truecaller says that the "Flash Messaging is a shorthand way for users to communicate via pre-defined messages, phrases and emojis with a simple swipe and tap."

Truecaller has already rolled out the Flash Messaging feature for Android users a few weeks ago, which was downloaded by over 41 million users at the moment. And the feature received a good response from Android users, which allowed the company to release it for iOS as well. Users of Truecaller iOS app can now communicate with one-tap responses.

Truecaller offers users who are unable to take a call or have a full conversation on text, a one-tap solution to answer yes-or-no-questions, share a location or call back. It also allows users to customise flash messages for inbuilt responses.

Simplifying communication into a minimalistic user interface, Flash Messaging helps users avoid cluttered SMS inboxes and ten-second calls. Another advantage of Flash Messaging is that looks like an incoming call, but unlocks as to be an incoming message, ensuring closure in communication. It maintains the urgency of a phone call with the effortlessness of a message, bringing simple answers to simple questions.

Here's how it works. Users who're using the latest Truecaller 8.0 version can swipe across the contacts section and immediately can notice a small blue coloured 'flash' symbol at the end of the contact. This indicates that the other user is also a member of Truecaller and you can communicate with him via Flash Messaging.

Just hit the flash icon and immediately a pop-up will appear, which allows you to send an automated response to the other contact. After you send the first flash, the person will be notified about the flash along with a few automatic responses displayed on the screen. If he sends a flash, then you'll be notified. If he ignores the flash, then you'll receive a notification as the user is busy.
