Taiwanese smartphone company, HTC has launched its latest flagship smartphone- the HTC U11 in India. The U11 fills the shoes of last year's HTC 10, which was one of the solid phones of 2016. The U11 has high-end hardware, and it has the highest camera rating in any smartphone till date by DxOMark.

HTC has priced the smartphone exceptionally well at Rs. 51,990, and no one expected the company to do that because of its previous pricing strategy. Besides the high-end hardware, the U11 is the world's first smartphone to come with Edge Sense technology. Here's everything you need to know about the HTC U11 launched in India today.

Edge Sense

As mentioned earlier, the U11 has Edge Sense technology, which allows you to squeeze the smartphone. By squeezing the sides of the phone, you can set the phone to perform some actions such as opening an app, opening Google Assistant or HTC Sense Companion, etc. You can adjust the squeezing level to perform various operations.

Design and Display

The HTC U11 comes with metal and glass body. The back of the phone is a 3D curved one, which makes the device look different in various angles. The back panel of the device is highly reflective. The U11 measures just 7.9mm in thickness and weigh 169 grams.

Coming to the display, HTC has packed a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, further resulting in a pixel density of 534 PPI. The display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Hardware

Being a flagship phone, the U11 has top-notch hardware that includes the octa-core Snapdragon 835 chip, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB internal storage. As we expected, HTC has launched the premium 6GB RAM variant in the India.

The chipset is accompanied by the Adreno 540 GPU to take care of the graphics. HTC has added BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition speakers with the U11, and the device doesn't feature a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a letdown. Furthermore, the bundled USB Type-C earphones are capable of recording 3D sound.

The phone comes with a 16MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. It can handle videos of 1080p resolution.

Connectivity, Software, and Battery

All the necessary connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port are present in the phone. The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat based HTC Sense UI.

Lastly, the U11 comes with a 3000mAh battery with support for Qualcomm's QuickCharge 3.0 technology. HTC says that the U11 will offer up to 336 hours of talk time on 3G.
