Xiaomi Mi VR Play Headset Launched in India for Rs. 999 Along with Mi Live App

Xiaomi has finally launched its Mi VR Play headset in India. The company's VP - Hugo Barra made the announcement of Mi VR Play's availability for India at the Mi Pop event. It is priced at Rs. 999 and will be up for sale on mi.com, starting from December 21 at 12 PM. Xiaomi will also be offering VR Play headset in limited edition colourful designs.

To recall, the VR headset was unveiled in China, back in August. Similar to many other VR headsets in the market, this one also comes packed in a zipper, which protects the phone from falling. The Mi VR Play headset is compatible with phone bearing display size between 4.7-inch to 5.7-inch, which also means that Xiaomi's own Mi Max phones are not compatible with it as they bear a 6.4-inch display.

Xiaomi's Mi VR Play headset is made up with Lycra fabric, which is touted by the company to be skin-friendly, lightweight, and suitable for longer usage. It is also compatible with Google Cardboard and YouTube's 360-degree videos along with Mi Live VR streaming. The headset measures 201 x 107 x 91mm and weighs 208.7 grammes. Along with the Mi VR headset, Xiaomi also launched Mi Live app in India.

Commenting on the launch of Mi Live live stream app in India, Xiaomi said,"Mi Live is our live stream app where you can share your daily thoughts, music talents, fitness tips, and more with the world.It has several built-in features like video chat and Beautify. In Mi Live, you can talk to the hosts, send comments, and they can respond to you in real time. It’s very interactive."
