With this, the company has expanded its 4G footprint across 15 towns, including Panchkula, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Phagwara, Bathinda and Moga, in the state of Punjab.

Airtel 4G is available to customers across a range of smart devices, including mobile phones, dongles, 4G hotspots and CPEs (customer premise equipment).

Manu Sood, Hub CEO – Upper North, Bharti Airtel, said, “As customers across these 15 towns in Punjab are showing an increasing propensity for consuming data services, we at Airtel are excited to take the lead in further expanding the power of blazing 4G speeds to the market. Today, as we expand Airtel 4G for our customers in the state, they will be uniquely positioned for a superlative 4G experience. We are committed to building a world class 4G network in the region”.

After having launched India’s first 4G network in Kolkata in April 2012. In March 2013, 4G services were launched in Punjab with tricity, followed by successive launches in FY 14-15 and FY 15-16 to have customers across 12 towns in the state to experience 4G services. Today, there are over 300 towns across India where Airtel has its 4G services available.

Using their 4G services from last 8-9 months. Though prices is high but reliable speed and coverage. Airtel is winner here. Atleast they started their 4G here in stipulated time. Now if we talk about other operators IDEA does’t cover major cities of Punjab. Vodafone don’t have licence to operate 4G here.Besides RJio is complete failure in my opinion that taking too much time implementing their services. Aircel spectrum in not present here.
So winner starts losers only make excuses 😛

The circle wise demarcation is causing social and cultural inconsistencies like
Panchkula is in Haryana but included in Punjab, Gurgaon and Faridabad are in
Harayana but included in Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida are in UP (W) but included
in Delhi etc. People so far connected culturally and socially have been divided due
to artificial telecom circle boundaries.
I don’t know why this is happening??

Very right Hitesh. I dnt rememeber fully. But once an NGO filed a public petition and as a result an order was passed. I think that order was not mandatory for telcos to follow. That’s why , only BSNL is treating FARIDABAD , GURGAON , PANCHKULA , CHANDIGARH in Haryana circle. While any PUNJAB BSNL customer is also offered no roaming in TRICITY. Similarly, BSNL u.p customers are offered no roaming charges in NOIDA . I also request TARUN , and T.T team to plz post any article regarding this. And if any NGO is reading this plz do something… Read more »
