Q1. Can You Explain the Working of Cyient’s Market-Focused 5G Network Rollout?
Enabling 5G network rollout is one of the core focus areas of Cyient’s proposition to the telecom Industry. And we are contributing extensively to the 5G network rollout globally. We have been responsible for designing the fiber network that powers the 5G cells.
Subsequently, we are playing a key role in the densification of the 5G network in urban, semi-urban, and rural locations. Telecom companies are on the lookout for quick, efficient rollout support and have been benefitting from our “maximum coverage-minimal infrastructure” design principle and technology solutions.
We combine decades of network design experience with the latest technologies like digital twin, geospatial intelligence, and hyper-automation to offer a unique proposition.
Our contribution to the rollout of 5G networks has been commended for its technical prowess and execution efficiency. The ‘Service Delivery Excellence Award in 5G Engineering’ conferred on us by NASSCOM in the recently held Engineering and Innovation Excellence Awards ‘21 is testimony to that.

We imbibe technology through partnerships, in-house development, and academia collaborations. We are always on the lookout for novel technology solutions and have developed a robust partner ecosystem with technology leaders globally.
There is a strong focus on developing digital solutions within Cyient; our IntelliCyient proposition was launched recently in Hannover Messe. We are setting up a 5G innovation lab and COE in India in partnership with global technology leaders. On the academia front, we have endowed a chair in IIT-Hyderabad to promote research and development in emerging communication technologies.
Q3. How Is the Introduction of the Roadmap for 5G Migration and Accompanying Solutions for Post-Deployment Operations, Transforming Communications Networks for Enterprise Solution Companies?
Enterprises across sectors are aspiring to achieve digital transformation, and it necessitates seamless convergence between information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT). However, operating and managing physical tasks digitally or using technology requires levels of sophistication and service that “consumer-grade” cellular and wireless connectivity may not always support.
The advent of private wireless networks where the confluence of technologies around virtualisation, edge connectivity, Control and User Plane Separation (CUPS), etc., is taking place is an intent to satisfy this need for enterprises. Cyient believes that Edge and Private Wireless have the potential to unlock immense value for enterprises – particularly through operational efficiencies, new business models, improved reliability and quality of service, and reduced cost of deployment.
Several new use cases are poised to open up. We have designed our Enterprise Network Transformation proposition to address this customer requirement. We are collaborating with best-in-class partners to provide network services and digital solutions to enterprises with the aim of supporting their transformation.
Q4. How is Cyient assisting in Cutting-edge transformation services for Communication Service Providers (CSP) in network planning and design to improve the end-user experience?
Traditionally, network build was undertaken in anticipation of business activity, introducing a potential for the demand-supply mismatch. As we progress toward intelligent demand-based network build, greater complexity is introduced in planning and operations.
With exponential demand for FTTx and 5G, there is an emphasis on (a) incorporating technology solutions at each step of the process, making the process efficient; and (b) developing integrations and seamless data exchange. This is true not only for the network build phase but also for operations.
The demand for a consistently high quality of service has led to the emergence of zero-touch provisioning and robust service management and assurance processes. Cyient’s proposition of Intelligent Infrastructure comprises Intelligent Survey, Intelligent Design, and Orchestrated Workflow Management. We place a strong emphasis on approaching plans and design in an integrated manner.
As an outcome, we have recorded a close to 70% reduction in survey cost through Intelligent Survey, which leverages LiDAR, 360-degree imagery, and AI. Similarly, our design principle focuses on optimisation, ensuring a significant reduction in cycle time. Through one of our key engagements in India, we enabled a 90% reduction inactivation time by integrating backend systems.
