BSNL Launches 3G Mobile Services in Puducherry (Pondicherry)

India's National Telecom Backbone Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) launches its 3G GSM mobile and High Speed Wireless Internet services (Data services) today in Union Territory Puducherry (Pondicherry) which comes under its Tamilnadu Telecom circle.

BSNL 3G services inaugurated by Union Minister for Telecommunications and IT Mr. A Raja at Poudecherry in the presence of Union Minister of state for planning and parliamentary affairs Mr. V Narayanasamy and Chief Minister of Pondicherry Mr.V Vaithilingam, Cheif Genaral Manager BSNL TN, Mr. D.Varadarajan, CGM, and Pondicherry SSA Head,Mr. Marshal Antony Loe R.




Mr. D.Varadarajan, CGM BSNL Tamilnadu Circle stated “BSNL 3G Mobile service is now available to all postpaid and prepaid subscribers of Poudecherry and Karaikal city and surrounding urban areas. The next generation 3G services allow telecom service provider to offer Video calls, High-speed Internet with speed Up to 3.6 Mbps, High quality multimedia services and live MobileTV facility.

The BSNL 3G Prepaid Sim Card cost Rs.59 and as an introductory offer the new 3G subscribers will get 50 free video calls and 25 MB Data usage. Beyond free usage Local Voice and Video calls will cost just 30 Paisa per minute and all STD video calls will be charged at 50 paisa. BSNL 2G prepaid mobile subscribers can migrate to 3G service just by one SMS "M3G120" to 53733 while for postpaid subscriber can send "M3G25" to 53733.
