Chinese smartphone maker Vivo teased its new APEX Full View concept phone on its Facebook and Weibo accounts. Though the video doesn’t reveal any key specifications of the APEX phone, it shows stunning design and some interesting features of the device. It is the very same phone which appeared a few days ago with nearly full-screen design without any bezels either on top or bottom.

The concept smartphone sets a new benchmark for future smartphone design with world’s highest screen to body ratio that is touted as nearly 98 percent. The Vivo APEX has super slim bezels around the display. The top bezel of 1.8mm only, slimmest ever for a smartphone and the bottom bezel is 4.3mm.
Half Screen Fingerprint Scanner
Another potentially game-changing feature on APEX is what Vivo describes as “Half-Screen In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology”. This technology transforms the bottom half of the screen into fingerprint scanning area. This address the concern of in-display fingerprint scanners being limited to the thumbnail-sized icon to unlock the phone.

Elevating Front Camera
Vivo resolves the issue of missing front camera sensor in the bezels with embedding the sensor in chassis of the phone. The selfie camera can be elevated when required to be used. It only takes 0.8 seconds for the so-called Elevating Front Camera to pop up. The APEX concept phone has an 8MP sensor up front.

Screen Sound Casting Technology
Another problem with fully bezel-less screens is it lacks space for sensors, earpiece speaker etc. Vivo seeks to address with new Screen Sound Casting Technology available on APEX which allows the display to function like a speaker and an earpiece.
