Xiaomi has released a new bug fixing MIUI 8.2 update for its popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. The update takes the device to version number MIUI 8.2 V8.2.2.0.MCFMIDL from the current MIUI 8.1.15.0 (MCFMIDI). The update is available via over-the-air and many users have already started receiving it. The new update weighs 553MB, and Xiaomi also released the fastboot and recovery images of the update, in case you can't update to the latest version using the updater app.
As said earlier, this is just a bug fixing update and is still based out of Android Marshmallow. Xiaomi already has released a beta version of MIUI 8.2 based on Android Nougat for Redmi Note 4 using Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip. We're expecting the stable Android Nougat based MIUI to be rolled out very soon.
Speaking about the features in this new MIUI 8.2 update, the Xiaomi is finally adding the 'Swipe to delete lock screen notifications' feature with which you remove the notifications directly from the lock screen itself. The previous MIUI version doesn't have this feature. Another noticeable change is that you can add a battery saver toggle to the notification shade to quickly activate the saver mode when your battery is critically low.
There are no new features apart from the two, and various bugs have been fixed. Take a look at the full changelog of MIUI 8.2 V8.2.2.0.MCFMIDL below.
