    If the broadband speed is mentioned as 2 mbps, it really doesnt mean that bcoz the remaining speed required for downloads are used for something else. If u want to know the exact speed of download, then u divide the speed wch is mentioned by the service provider by 8..

    in PUNJAB (faridkot Area)

    Rent = 625 +10.33% TAX = Approximately 690

    Download Limt = Unlimited Any Time
    Speed = 512Kbph (60 KB/Sec at Downloading Time)

    If You Are a GOVT. Employ You Have To Pay Just Approximately 560.

    BSNL good for calls ,i e for land line not good for broadband.I think airtel is good with new plan (500 unlimited with 512kbps speed )
    BSNL disadvantages lol:-
    -no proper coordination or good help line and since government, no proper reply to complaints
    -poor speed with high tariff,unlimited plan stinks and all new plan is quite similar
    -lot of disconnection problem. 5 or 6 times a week
    -i was keen on 3G seems it stinks too,with compilation other private company may give even better service

    I am a long BSNL customer (decade),up till now they are robing us and not providing good service for over money.

    Its is a good competitive plan but subscribers who have deposited prepaid money in advance under unlimited 750 rupees category are on loosing side as both plans are unlimited but advantage with 625 combo unlimited is that not only subscriber will get 256kbs speed equivalent to 750 plan but also get 100 free calls per month and plan at 625 rupees which is 125 rupees less,so advance payments subscriber should also be migrate to 625 plan.

    I agree with Rohit. It is not only pure nonsense but GREAT CHEAT.

    All we know that ‘UNLIMITED’ means ‘UNLIMITED’ in all sense, whether it is volume or speed. No other excuses are needed.

    You look again at the Graphical advertisements with Parrot(256Kbps), Dove(512Kbps), Crane(1Mbps) and Eagle(2Mbps)with the caption “freedom from usage”. There is nothing like ‘combo’ as MR.Sanjay Bafna has said.

    ACTUALLY THESE BIRDS HAVE TAKEN AWAY OUR FREEDOM ! ANY BODY CAN CHEAT US AT ANY COST.

    Only when you call helpline at 1500, they will tell you regarding all these limits.Not even in BSNL sites.

    Is there any way to go for Consumer Court for MAKING ALL INDIANS “APRIL FOOLS” ahead of one week!

    Rohit :This is total nonsense. If its called unlimited plan, then why have they placed a download limit of 9GB & 10GB for the 1Mbps and 2Mbps respectively. Mtnl plans are better but not available in K’nataka

    Rohit, the service providers place a cap on the download limits so that other users can also avail of the benefits of high speed Internet and not create unnecessary Internet Traffic and the bandwidth can be utilised properly. This in known as Fair Usage Policy. This policy is used by all service providers, be it Mobile Service Provider or Internet Service Provider.

    But download linit should be extended atleast 90/100 GB. Then You can say it is fair usage policy.

    There is no limit for the data download. Only the download speed is reduced to 256 Kbps once you have downloaded 9 GB or 10 GB. Assume that you have already downloaded 10 GB of data, then you can further download data but your download speed would be reduced to 256 Kbps instead of getting 1 Mbps or 2 Mbps.

    if any ISP want 2 save its server/nwtwrk frm unneccesary traffic they can do it in one way …day time less speed .. i like 256kbps in day and speed upgrade in night 2Mbps! …. i think thats d way ISP can fully utilize their bandwidth! … schedule ur PC 2 dwnld at night, while power failure/loadshedding is less !

    BSNL knows that this plan wil not get positive response from BSNL loyal subscribers but who like it for e.g. Airtel loyal subscribers will attract towards BSNL. BSNL you are simply gr8. you offered Airtel’s same plan in minimum time frame with all approvals gr8 to see your improvement.

    See the condition of BSNL subscribers !

    What is the use of 2 mbps with 10GB limit ? At 2mbps speed if downloading is started it will last max 1.5~2 days for 10GB to get over . A max of 2 DVD HD mmovies download and ur speed will be back to 256 kbps. So for 2 days broadband at 2 mbps we will end up paying 350 bucks extra ! Good ploy BSNL

    Check MTNL is providing 1 mbps truly unlimited at 999 per month and no shitty GB limit. Broadband connection is not like water or electricity connection where GB should be a limit ! Airtel 4 mbps 25GB limit is just Rs 1399. BSNL is 30% more expensive than Airtel and 50% more expensive than MTNL ! Wake up ppl…..why dont we even understand the limits….ppl dont know what GB is :rofl:

    This is great. There was also another news that the speed of all the existing customers will be doubled from October 2010.
    For Example – If you had 256Kbps it will become 512Kbps and so on.
    Is this true?

    Finally some movement on the wired broadband front. Although…hmmm…wonder why Chennai tends to be golden city when it comes to BSNL. I’m sure it has nothing to with where the Minister of Telecom’s hails from. Kinda like Railway routes and National Highway construction/expansion provisioning. Kinda sad how obvious it is how Cabinet positions are run like their mini fiefdoms instead of national portfolio’s.
