Orange Jordan launches 5G Services in Amman and Irbid

Orange Jordan has announced the launch of its 5G services in several areas of Amman and Irbid. As the first telco to Pilot the 5G in the Kingdom in November 2022, Orange Jordan says it is also the first telco to enable the 5G network in Amman. According to the official release, Orange Jordan subscribers can now experience this new service for free.

Orange Jordan 5G Announcement

Orange Jordan 5G was announced during a press conference held on July 11, 2023, at the Innovation Hub in the Orange Digital Village in Amman. The event was attended by the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Chairman of the Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (TRC), industry partners, media, Orange Jordan's Chairman of the Board, and the executive management team.

Orange Jordan is the second Orange country in the Middle East and Africa to launch 5G, enabling significant development for essential infrastructure and driving accelerated digital transformation, smart cities, and numerous use cases across industries such as entertainment, health, manufacturing, education, and transportation.

Necessary Infrastructure Deployed to Deliver 5G

According to Orange Jordan, the official launch of their 5G services comes after completing the necessary infrastructure to deliver 5G services in Amman and Irbid during the initial stage. The company says it has plans to expand 5G coverage to additional areas according to a set timeframe, with the help of Orange Group's expertise in the 5G rollout.

Orange Jordan's 5G Rollout

Orange Jordan says it will deliver carefully designed 5G packages and offers to all fixed and mobile internet, both for prepaid and postpaid lines, to cater to the diverse needs of individuals, homes, and businesses.

This 5G launch results from the agreement between Orange Jordan and the TRC signed in August 2022, along with the 5G frequencies license obtained by the company in February 2023.

According to the statement, Orange Jordan now stands as the sole provider in the Kingdom, offering all internet technologies, including fixed internet through fibre and ADSL, mobile internet through its 4G and 4G+ networks (as the exclusive 4G+ provider), and now 5G.
