Nokia has finally started rolling out the Windows Phone 8.1 update to its devices but in a phased manner. A strange thing is that the first device to receive the Windows Phone 8.1 update is the Lumia 625. Earlier, high-end devices used to receive the update prior to mid-range or low-range priced devices. Is this a changed strategy from Microsoft or just a way to provide the update to as many users as possible? The update is currently rolling out in Finland, Spain and Taiwan. Global rollout of this update will start shortly.
Other devices will get the update in the coming months. The first devices with Windows Phone 8.1 were the Nokia Lumia 630, Nokia Lumia 630 Dual SIM and Nokia Lumia 930. Other brands like Micromax and Xolo have already announced Windows Phone 8.1 powered smartphones.
