Swisscom and Ericsson have announced an expanded partnership, launching MPN Private, a fully standalone Mobile Private Network (MPN) built on Ericsson's private 5G network technology. The two companies, already in partnership with Ericsson as a network supplier for Swisscom's entire mobile network, are now further strengthening their collaboration. This offering leverages Ericsson's dual-mode core, supporting both 4G and 5G connectivity simultaneously, to enable innovative use cases across both indoor and outdoor environments.

Features and Benefits of MPN Private Network
The companies say that MPN Private allows businesses to operate a secure, localised mobile network on their premises, independent of any specific mobile provider. This solution is designed for industries that require high-performance, low-latency connectivity for applications such as mobile robots, digital twins, and connected workforces. The system ensures efficient data handling while keeping sensitive information on-site.
"With Ericsson, we have opted for an established and proven network equipment supplier with whom we are jointly advancing the topic of mobile private networks with and for companies in Switzerland so that they can benefit from the advantages of mobile networking," says Fredy Portmann, Head of Connected Business Solutions at Swisscom Business Customers.

Strong Momentum for Private Networks
"We see strong momentum for private networks driven by use cases that benefit greatly from 5G connectivity. The combination of Swisscom's high-performance and high-coverage network, as well as Ericsson's turnkey solutions, will open up new opportunities for customers who recognize the value of private networks," said Kenneth Ong, Key Account Manager, Ericsson Switzerland.
The companies plan to further expand and deepen their MPN services in the coming months, offering advanced, turnkey solutions for businesses seeking to leverage private mobile networks.
