Jumping on the bandwagon of Samsung, Sony, HTC, and other companies, Huawei has also started working on Nougat update for its select devices. The company has revealed a list consisting of devices that will be getting the taste of Nougat soon. The list also contains the timeline for the update.

Huawei P9

The Nougat update will debut as EMUI 5.0 on Huawei devices. The update rollout will start in Q1 2017. Huawei Mate 8 and P9 will be the first phones to get the update, followed by other Huawei devices such as Huawei P9 Plus, P9 Lite, Nova, and Nova Plus. The beta version of Nougat update has already started hitting a few Huawei devices.

Huawei P9 Plus, P9 Lite, Nova, and Nova Plus will get the update within a week after Mate 8 and P9 will get in Q1 2017. It is not clear whether the list is final or Huawei will be adding more devices to it. We hope Huawei will at least add its 2015's flagship - P8 to the list. On the other hand, there are high chances that the Mate S might not get the Nougat update.

For the Nougat-based EMUI 5.0, Huawei touts in a press release that,"it significantly cuts down on the number of steps needed to achieve the desired function. Users can reach 90% of the core functions in just two to three clicks. Additionally, users can jump between their professional and personal lives effortlessly with profiles now being able to run in parallel – no switching of phones necessary."
