India telcos approach Supreme Court over Trai’s call drop regulation

Indian telecom operators have finally approached the Supreme Court, challenging recent High Court order that upheld the Trai's regulation mandating carriers to compensate consumers for call drop. Trai to impose call drop regulation: Ravi Shankar Prasad

Trai is all set to enforce its order on call drops mandating telcos to compensate customers for failed calls, following a Delhi High Court order that upheld the decision by telecom regulator. Call drops: Verdict on Trai’s compensation order likely tomorrow

The Delhi High Court is expected to pass a judgment tomorrow on petitions filed by GSM and CDMA lobby bodies challenging Trai’s order making it mandatory for telcos compensate subscribers for call drops from January onwards. Telenor to get pan-India footprint via acquisition?
