Google unveiled its much-awaited Android 6.0 Marshmallow update hand-in-hand with the launch of the LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P. Along with the latest Nexus devices, preceding Nexus line-up is also set to get the 6.0 update within this week’s timeline. Other manufacturers such as HTC have also announced the timeline for their devices to receive the latest Android 6.0 update.
Following the announcements, Motorola has also revealed the list of smartphones that are set to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow in India. Six smartphones under Motorola’s banner will receive the Marshmallow update, these six devices are — Moto X Play, Moto Turbo, Moto X (second generation), and the Moto G (third generation and second generation). Other than that, Motorola will also be launching its Moto X Style within this month in India.
The company has not announced any specific timeline for the update roll-out yet, but it did say in a statement that, “As for timing, we have high standards, so we’ll work fast, but we won’t push the upgrades out until we know they are ready. Look for more news on timing in the coming weeks.”
With the new update, many new features will be making a debut, such as Doze mode, Google Now on Tap, App permissions, enhanced volume controls, and many more. Moreover, Motorola is also planning to bring its niche features with the update. Interestingly, the company also has planned to end many of its services with the update, such as Moto Assist, Motorola Migrate, and the Motorola Connect.
