MTS to Introduce Data Plans For Internet Calling, offers 5GB data for Rs 499 which can be used for 5000 minutes of Internet Calling

MTS has today rolled out net-neutral internet calling plans for both prepaid and postpaid customers. The plans further showcase the company’s commitment and support to Net Neutrality and offers data for internet calling.


Customers can use the data for making internet calls using any internet calling application of their choice, be it over WhatsApp, Skype, Viber, etc. As per the plan, users can opt to use 5GB data for 5000 minutes of internet calls. The 5000 minutes of internet call guarantee for 5GB data is calculated basis using the standard voice codecs.

According to Sandeep Yadav, Chief Marketing & Brand Officer – MTS India, “MTS India does not support any discrimination or preferential treatment when it comes to internet services. It is our belief that the freedom to access and use internet services the way a customer wants should rest with the customer himself. Our latest “Anti-Zero Rating Plans” allow customers the freedom to use data for internet calling if they wish to. Simply put, the Rs 499 plan which offers 5GB data will translate into 5000 minutes of internet calls.”

Is it only for Voice Calling or we can use for browsing? Anyway its good plan.

Atleast they listens the their customers, specifically about network coverage. Recently one of my family member was facing coverage issues after raising a complain they immediately they responded with specific info regarding cell site glitches, where they told us that they have some issues in the cell site which is nearest to us, I. am totally amazed about their sincerity towards their customers, but that day they were unable to resolve the issue but later they optimized the cell site and now we are experiencing stronger coverage in our area.
