Last Stock Of Moto G On Flipkart

There's no denying that the Moto G is currently among the best budget Android smartphones in the market but Flipkart has announced that it is selling the last stocks of Moto G in India. This means that the Moto G will be phased out from the market to be replaced by the upcoming Moto G2. Earlier this month, Motorola had slashed the price of both 8GB and 16GB variants of Moto G by Rs. 2,000 in India due to stiff competition from Alcatel, Xiaomi and Asus. The 16GB version of Moto G is currently available for purchase for Rs. 11,999.

Motorola has scheduled a press event on September 4th and September 5th in the U.S. and India respectively, where the new Moto X+1, Moto G2 and Moto 360 smartwatch are most likely to be launched. Rumours are doing rounds that the Moto G2 will pack a pocket-friendly price tag and slightly better hardware specifications. According to some reports, the Moto G2 will feature a slightly larger 5-inch 720p display, Android 4.4.4 KitKat, Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, dual SIM support, front-facing speakers, 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. In order to provide G2 with market space, Motorola has decided to stop selling the Moto G.

We think that if Motorola wants the Moto G2 to be a success, they should price it similar to the Moto G as apart from the slightly bigger screen and better camera resolution, it bears no real upgrade. Will you buy the Moto G or wait for the Moto G2?
