Start Campus, a sustainable data center operator, has announced an order for transformers from Siemens Energy to power its SIN02-06 buildings at the SINES DC campus in Portugal. This order, valued at over EUR 20 million, marks a significant step in the construction of SIN02, which will provide up to 180 MW of IT capacity when it becomes operational in 2026. The equipment will play a crucial role in meeting the project’s delivery schedule and supporting reliable, sustainable energy solutions at competitive power prices, Start Campus said in a joint statement on Thursday.

Partnership with Siemens Energy
The collaboration between Start Campus and Siemens Energy began with the deployment of power equipment for SIN01 and continues to grow with this new order.

SIN01, another building on the SINES DC campus, is expected to be operational by Q4 2024 with an initial IT capacity of 14 MW, expandable to 26 MW with the use of liquid cooling technologies, the official release said.
