On April 10 India saw a landmark event in the history of telecommunications, as Airtel announced 4G wireless broadband services in Kolkata in presence of Union Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal.

Airtel’s 4G is based upon LTE-TDD technology. Airtel currently offers 4G services for data access only, and devices are also limited. Currently only a data card and a indoor WiFi CPE is available. Details of Airtel 4G plans, devices and value added services are given here.
