While the Eluga Ray 500 and Eluga Ray 700 smartphones were online exclusive models, the Eluga I4 is an offline-only model, which kept Panasonic away from adding good specifications to the smartphone. The Panasonic Eluga I4 is priced at Rs. 8,290 and competes with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 4, Yu Yureka Black, and the 10.or E.

“To add on to the positive response received to our previous I series launches, Panasonic smartphone’s is pleased to introduce the all-new Eluga I4 with stunning 5” HD IPS display and OTG support feature which lets you transfer data safely. At Panasonic, we try to reach our consumer demands and bring meaningful innovations that can help make their lives exceptionally better” Mr Pankaj Rana, Business Head, Mobility Division, Panasonic India.

Coming back to the specifications of the Panasonic Eluga I4, it sports a 5-inch HD IPS LCD display with a 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartphone is powered by the 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC, mated with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The onboard storage is expandable up to 128GB with a microSD card.

Cameras in the Panasonic Eluga I4 include an 8MP autofocus rear snapper and a 5MP front-facing camera. The device measures 8.3mm in thickness and have a weight of 151 grams. Panasonic has added a dedicated microSD card, meaning you can use a microSD card and two SIM cards in the smartphone. The smartphone supports two micro SIM cards.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS. Interestingly, Panasonic is highlighting the USB OTG feature in the smartphone. The device boots Android 7.0 Nougat, and is backed by a 3000mAh battery.

Lastly, the smartphone arrives in three colour options- Blue, Black & Gold. "The Panasonic Eluga I4 will be available at all Panasonic brand shops and authorised retail outlets across the country at Rs. 8290," stated the company in a press statement.
