Continuing its tradition of launching special edition smartphones, Oppo, the Chinese brand today unveiled the Diwali special edition of the Oppo F3. Dubbed as Oppo F3 Diwali Edition, it comes in a bright Red Hue with gold coloured antenna bands on top and bottom. Last year, Oppo launched Oppo F1s Diwali Edition with celebrity signatures printed on the back.

With the Diwali Edition, the Oppo F3 now comes in four colour options- gold, matte black (ICC Champions Trophy Edition), Rose Gold (Deepika Padukone Edition), and the all-new Bright Red option. That said, Oppo did not change the specifications of the smartphone though, and it still features the dual camera setup at the front.

Diving into the specifications, the Oppo F3 flaunts a 5.5-inch Full HD display layered with a 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. The chipset used by Oppo to power the smartphone doesn't inspire confidence. The Oppo F3 Diwali Edition is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6750T 64-bit processor, mated with Mali T860 GPU and 4GB of RAM.

The Oppo F3 Diwali Edition comes with 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card. This dual SIM smartphone still boots Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based ColorOS 3.0. The smartphone comes with connectivity options such as 4G LTE, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and a micro USB port.

The device measures 7.3mm in thickness and weigh 153grams. The highlight of the Oppo F3 Diwali Edition is the dual selfie camera setup. It has a 16MP primary sensor with 76.4-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture, along with an 8MP secondary sensor with 120-degree wide-angle lens. At the back of the phone is a 13MP sensor with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, and f/2.2 aperture.

Oppo has added a fingerprint sensor into the home button of the smartphone, and the entire package is backed by a 3200mAh battery. The Oppo F3 Diwali Edition is priced at Rs. 18,990 and will be available exclusively on Amazon India. Oppo will also sell the device in the offline market, although in limited quantities. Customers whoever purchases the Oppo F3 Diwali Edition will receive an exclusive cricket bat signed by the Indian Cricket Team.

Commenting on the launch, Will Yang, Brand Director, OPPO India said: "Diwali is a festival that brings together loved ones under one roof and gives them an opportunity to bond. This customized red phone, a colour that signifies the auspicious festivities, aims to help our consumers click perfect moments with their families and make this a preferred Diwali gift."
