High-Speed Connectivity for Youth Organisations

Access to high-quality full-fibre broadband and improved connectivity is critical to enhancing the prospects of disadvantaged young people and driving economic growth, Nexfibre explained. The company noted that more than half a million (nearly 570,000) young people in the UK lack access to essential learning devices and reliable internet connections at home.

Recognising the urgency of improving digital infrastructure to support the needs of the youth sector, Nexfibre stated that it is working with UK Youth to improve access to high-speed internet for some of the most marginalised communities and disadvantaged young people in the UK.

Impact of Full-Fibre Broadband

By equipping youth centres with better connectivity, this collaboration will create environments where young people can develop new skills, form meaningful relationships, and thrive within their communities, the official release said.

"We deeply care about delivering high-quality broadband to everyone across the country, especially those in underserved communities and from disadvantaged backgrounds. Full-fibre broadband is a crucial driver of economic growth, enabling better access to education, jobs, and opportunities that can transform lives and uplift entire communities," said Rajiv Datta, Chief Executive Officer of Nexfibre.

"This is why we have partnered with UK Youth and collaborated with Virgin Media O2 to bring this essential digital infrastructure to centres nationwide," he added.
