The homegrown smartphone brand Lava just announced its first 5G smartphone - Agni 5G. The smartphone is priced under Rs 20,000, which is already dominated by various Chinese brands such as Redmi. Having said that, there will be stiff competition between devices that exist in this sector and the Lava offering has joined the fight. Talking about the similarities, both smartphones come with a quad-camera setup at their rear. A 5000mAh battery powers both the Lava and Redmi offering along with support for fast charging. Let’s take a look at other aspects below.

Display: The Lava smartphone uses a bigger 6.78-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the Redmi smartphone uses a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and support for HDR10.

Hardware: The Lava Agni 5G gets the power from an octa-core MediaTek Diemsnity 810 processor while the Redmi Note 10 Pro uses an octa-core Snapdragon 732G processor. While both use a 5000mAh battery, the Lava smartphone supports 30W fast charging and the Redmi offering is better with 33W fast charging support. Otherwise, both smartphones have 128GB storage space and 8GB of RAM with the high-end variant and support additional storage as well.

Camera: The Lava Agni 5G features a quad-camera setup with a 64MP primary camera sensor with a 6P lens, a secondary 5MP wide-angle lens, a 2MP tertiary depth camera and a 2MP fourth macro lens. There is support for FHD 1080p video recording as well. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 10 Pro comes with a better camera unit with a 108MP primary camera sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. At the front, both phones have a 16MP selfie camera sensor.

Software and Connectivity: Both smartphones are powered by Android 11 while the Redmi phone is topped with MIUI 12. The connectivity aspects are standard and there is support for a fingerprint sensor as well.

Talking about the price comparison, the Lava smartphone arrives in a single storage variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM priced at Rs 19,999. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 10 Pro arrives in three configurations - 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM, and 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM priced at Rs 15,999, Rs 16,999 and Rs 18,999 respectively.
