The company alongside the smartphones has also launched the Huawei Watch 2. The Huawei P10 and P10 Plus will be made available to the public by March in Europe, Malaysia, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand with more markets following in. Pricing for the base variant of Huawei P10 starts at €649 (roughly Rs.45,645) while the P10 Plus starts at €699 (roughly Rs. 49,162).

Huawei got its break after inking a deal with Google to manufacture the Nexus 6P. And ever since, the company has been on a success ride with a diverse set of phones in the offering. Among them, though, the Huawei P9 (launched last year) caught the attention of many for its dual-camera setup at the back. Kicking it up a notch, the company has now unveiled its successor, the Huawei P10 along with the P10 Plus.

On theHuawei P10 and the P10 Plus, the focus still largely remains in the imaging department. At the back, both the handsets have a dual camera setup, a 20-megapixel sensor monochrome sensor + a 12-megapixel RGB sensor. However, the P10 Plus benefits over P10’s f/2.2 aperture with a wider f/1.8 aperture.

In addition to the dual camera setup, the smartphone has support for laser autofocus, OIS, 4K video. At the front is an 8-megapixel sensor with f/1.9 aperture. Interestingly, both the front and back cameras are co-engineered with Leica. Also, similar to iPhone 7 Plus Portrait mode, the P10 and P10 Plus get the Portrait Mode.

The P10 and P10 Plus boast an “ultra-slim” design with what the company is calling as a “hyper diamond-cut finishing” which it intends will get rid of scratches and smudges. While the P10 flaunts a 5.1-inch Full HD display, the P10 Plus has a 5.5-inch QHD display with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 technology and 2.5D curved glass atop. Right below the screen is the fingerprint scanner which also doubles as an alternative to on-screen navigation buttons much like the Lenovo Z2 Plus’s U-Touch 2.0.

At the heart of both, the handsets will be the in-house Kirin 960 chipset. However, the P10 Plus comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space whereas the P10 comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. Both the phones allow you to expand the storage space (up to 256GB) via a microSD card.

The phone also has something called Ultra Memory which, with the help of machine learning algorithms compresses apps and optimise memory use to make sure the phone runs fast even after months of usage. That is, of course, what the company claims, real life performance is yet to be seen.

On the software front, both the handsets will run Android 7.0 Nougat-based EMUI 5.0 out-of-the-box. Regarding connectivity, the Huawei P10 Plus has support for 4.5G-LTE (it has quad-antennas instead of dual-antenna for strong connectivity and nearly 2x download speeds). While the P10 houses a 3,200mAh battery, the Plus variant draws power from the 3,750mAh battery.

Both the handsets will be available in a variety of colours which include Ceramic White, Dazzling Blue, Dazzling Gold, Prestige Gold, Graphite Black, Mystic Silver, Rose Gold, and Greenery.

As of now, there's no word on the Indian availability. But, should some details surface online we will keep you posted.
