Google has initiated the roll out of Android Wear 5.1.1 to an array of compatible smartwatches. The company made an announcement about the update last month, but it was only limited to LG Watch Urbane.
The update will bring a host of latest features and enhancements to the Android Wear platform. Some of such improvements are, better launcher with wrist gesture support, functionality to draw Emojis, heads-up notifications, screen lock, and ability to change font size.
Another premium feature that debuts with the Android 5.1.1 update is Wi-Fi support. Although, it will only be compatible on the Sony Smartwatch 3, Moto 360, LG Watch Urbane, and Samsung Gear Live. One of the basic pre-requisite for the update is the latest version of the Android Wear smartphone application. The update will hit the devices gradually in a matter of days or weeks.
