Asus Zenfone 5Z Price in India to Start at Rs 29,999: Flipkart Listing

Asus is all set to launch its Zenfone 5Z flagship smartphone in India. The phone debuted for the first time during MWC 2018, since then it has been launched in other countries, however, it was still on the waitlist for Indian markets. The phone will hit the Indian stores on July 4. Right ahead of the launch, a listing of the phone was spotted online on the Indian e-commerce site Flipkart where many variants and colour options were seen. Through the listing, the exact price of the Zenfone 5Z is now public. Now since the cost of the phone is known, it is safe to say that this new launch by Asus is going to take a jab on the likes of OnePlus 6 and Honor 10.

Interestingly, all the colours which were spotted online on the Flipkart listing were the same which debuted in MWC 2018. As for the variants, the phone was spotted with 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage, 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage options on the e-comm site. The 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant was seen retailing for Rs 29,999, while the second variant sporting 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant was seen on Flipkart with a price tag of Rs 32,999. The high-end variant of the Zenfone 5Z with 8GB RAM and 256GB was seen online selling for Rs 36,999. In addition to the pricing, Flipkart also conveyed that it would roll out bank offers along with no-cost EMI options to promote the sales of the phone.

Like we mentioned above, the phone is already up for grabs in other countries. For making a lenient comparison, it’s worth knowing that the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of the ZenFone 5Z is available for EUR 479 (approx. Rs 38,300), while its 6GB RAM and 64GB storage model is up for sale in Taiwan at the price of TWD 14,990 (approx. Rs 33,700). In Taiwan only, the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is available at TWD 16,990 (approx. Rs 38,200).

The Asus Zenfone 5Z sports a 6.2-inch Full HD+ (1080x2246 pixels) LCD panel with a 19:9 aspect ratio. The highlight of the design is the new notch design. The phone runs on the top end Snapdragon 845 SoC, paired with Adreno 630 GPU for graphics and up to 8GB of RAM. For imaging, the camera features a 12MP primary sensor with a f/1.8 aperture lens and an 8MP secondary sensor with a f/2.2 aperture lens. On the front, there is an 8MP sensor at the front with a f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree Field of View lens. The phone is also able to pull off face unlock feature thanks to the front camera. On the software front, the phone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo-based ZenUI 5.0.

The battery on the device is a 3,300mAh one. The handset also doesn’t miss out on the headphone jack, and it sports a USB Type-C port. The storage options go as high as 256GB depending on the variant. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, FM radio. In addition to this, the Zenfone 5Z also comes with artificial intelligence (AI) backed fast charging technology and the handset weighs 155 grams.
