After slashing data rates up to 67% , the country's largest telecom operator Bharti Airtel has now launched another promotional offer called 'Airtel Jackpot' for their customers across India.

Under the new offer, Airtel is offering 5GB free data to all its customers who will follow some easy steps on their self-care app My Airtel. To do this, Airtel customers need to install all Wynk apps which are almost free. For completing each of the tasks customers would win data. There are almost 11 steps & following all the steps one can easily get 5 GB of data which can be used during night only.

This move by Airtel shows that the company is now aggressively trying to engage their customers with Wynk & other apps, for which they are offering huge data benefits across all circles. As Jio is already offering content to their users for free and might come with plans where there wouldn't be any charges to access Jio apps for high value customers, the latest move by Bharti Airtel clearly shows they are trying to protect their own turf by acquainting the subscribers to their apps with the lure of free data. Though Airtel can't match with Jio now as the Mukesh Ambani led telecom operator already has bunch of apps to offer live TV, video on demand & other services.

Though some of Airtel apps are very popular, like Wynk Music which already crossed 25 million downloads, thanks to its free rental & ad free music offerings. Also, Airtel Money is another app by the company which is most popular among other telecom operator’s payment apps. Bharti Airtel also owns stake in Bharti Softbank which operates Hike social messaging app, famous for its regional content and stickers.

So, not only in data pricing; we can expect a future war among telecom operators in apps & content section too.
