Empire Access Expands Fiber Network to Cortland, New York
Empire Access, a Northeast fiber-based internet service provider (ISP), has launched its fiber optic internet service in Cortland, New York, enabling connectivity for local businesses and residents. With speeds of up to 1 Gbps for businesses and 2 Gbps for residents, the service aims to boost digital transformation and economic growth in the area.

Fiber Optic Internet Now Live in Cortland

The service is now live in most areas, with the ISP ready to serve 2,214 addresses in Cortland. The network rollout is underway and is expected to be completed by early spring 2025. This new service adds to Empire Access's roster of communities throughout New York and Pennsylvania, the official release said.

"Our goal is to provide communities like Cortland with the right tools to help advance their online capabilities and empower residents and businesses with the gold standard of modern internet," said Kevin Dickens, CEO of Empire Access. "We're reaching these communities to provide internet and a full stack of services they might not have access to otherwise. We're excited to officially join Cortland’s community and offer our services."

Services Beyond Internet

In addition to high-speed internet, Empire Access offers phone, streaming, and security services as part of its suite of offerings. To maintain deep roots in the communities it serves, Empire Access says it staffs locally to ensure its customer service team understands customers' needs.

Founded in 1896 with a single telephone line in Prattsburgh, New York, Empire Access has grown as a local communications provider serving large areas of Upstate New York and Northern Pennsylvania.

According to the official release, Empire Access offers a range of products and services, including scalable high-speed fiber optic internet, TV, phone, and security solutions.
