LMT Expands 5G Network, Covering 70 Percent of Latvia’s Population

LMT Expands 5G Network, Covering 70 Percent of Latvia's Population

Latvian Mobile Telecommunications (LMT) operator has announced that its 5G coverage is now available to almost 70 percent of Latvia's population, covering approximately 45 percent of the country's territory, according to the official release. LMT has also announced expanding its 5G network since the beginning of the year.

5G Data Consumption

LMT reported that among the most active users of 5G, residents in the regions of Pieriga, including Adazi, Kekava, and Marupe, along with Augsdaugava, Jekabpils, and Saldus, have been leading in terms of gigabytes consumed per user.

Substantial Investment in 5G Technology

Last year, LMT invested nearly 35 million euros in constructing its network and infrastructure. According to the telco, it has already invested 14 million euros this year, with a large portion of the investment going towards implementing 5G technology across Latvia. LMT has over 1,580 base stations, ensuring quality networks for increasing internet consumption.

LMT's Vision for a Connected Future

By extending its 5G network, LMT aims to be at the forefront of addressing 21st-century challenges while simultaneously offering futuristic solutions in the present.
