Chinese brand, Vivo has slashed the prices of Vivo V7+ flagship device and Vivo Y53 budget smartphone in India. Both the smartphones were launched last year. The Vivo V7+, which was launched last year for Rs 21,990 has received a price cut of Rs 2,000 and will be available for Rs 19,990 going forward. The Vivo V53 is a budget smartphone launched at Rs 8,990, but it will now retail for Rs 8,490, down by just Rs 500. This is a much-needed price cut from Vivo as the Chinese company has been struggling to retain the smartphone sales in the country of late. The price cut on both the phones is already effective in both online and offline channels.

Vivo V7

The Vivo V7+ is the Chinese company's flagship smartphone in the Indian market, and it was launched back in September 2017. The V7+ offers a 24MP selfie camera on the front, and it's powered by the Snapdragon 450 chipset. The device has 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage with support for storage expansion with a microSD card slot.

To the front of the phone, Vivo has added a 5.99-inch FullView display with 18:9 aspect ratio, but sadly, it's an HD+ resolution. Most of the rival smartphones offer much better hardware than the Vivo V7+, and there's not even a single reason to pick the Vivo V7+. At the back of the phone, there's a 16MP camera, and the phone still runs Android 7.0 Nougat.

Talking about the Vivo Y53, the phone ships with a 5-inch display with an underwhelming 960 x 540 pixels resolution. Other phones in the same price range are even offering Full HD resolution, and Vivo should at least learn a thing or two from them.

Internally, the Vivo Y53 offers a Snapdragon 425 chipset, coupled to 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It offers a 2500mAh battery and comes with 4G VoLTE support. Other connectivity options in the device include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS and a micro USB port for charging, data transfer.

Lastly, the Y53 is still running on Android Marshmallow based FunTouch 3.0, which is unacceptable in 2018. Will you consider buying the Vivo V7+ and Vivo V53 after the price cut?
