Everyone expected that Motorola would unveil the mid-range Moto X4 alongside the Moto Z2 lineup at the July 25 event. However, we have to wait a bit more to witness the Moto X4. Right after the event concluded, the Moto X4 paid a visit to the Geekbench benchmarking site with a model number Motorola XT1789.
However, there's a possibility that the phone may not be the Moto X4, but going by the Snapdragon 660 SoC used on the phone, it is indeed believed to be the Moto X4. Previous rumours suggested that the Moto X4 will pack the recently announced Snapdragon 660 processor, and will arrive in two variants.
In fact, it is also said that the launch date is being delayed due to unavailability of the Snapdragon 660 chipset itself. The surprise, however, is that the smartphone in the listing has just 3GB of RAM, as opposed to the 4GB RAM rumoured earlier. However, it's not a surprise to see a Motorola phone with 4GB of RAM because the company had released the Moto G5 in two RAM options- 3GB and 4GB.
Besides the processor and the amount of RAM used on the phone, there are not many details revealed by the listing. Of course, the device is running the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. Further, the Moto X4 will have a 3D glass design both front and back, and even a render of the smartphone had leaked as well.
The Moto X4, for now, has two sets of specifications. One set says that the phone will have a 5.2-inch Full HD 3D glass display, Snapdragon 660 chipset, 3GB/4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of storage, dual cameras at the back, and a larger 3800mAh battery.
Another set of rumoured specs suggests a 5.5-inch Full HD 3D glass display, Snapdragon 630 SoC, 3GB/4GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of storage, dual camera, and a mediocre 3020mAh battery.
That said, both sets suggest the dual camera setup on the phone. Yes, the Moto X4 will have two cameras at the back, same as the Moto Z2 Force, but the implementation may not be the same as the Z2 Force.
Moreover, Motorola also has the Moto G5s and G5s+ lined up for an imminent release. The G5s+ is claimed to be powered by the Snapdragon 626 chipset but will have a dual camera setup, which differentiates it from the Moto G5 series.
