Putting an end to the ongoing rumours, Google has finally confirmed that it will be launching two new Android Wear smartwatches at the beginning of the next year. The launch of the two new wearables is Google's effort to make consumers focus on smartwatches, again.

Android Wear Smartwatches

The upcoming smartwatches from Google will not be using Pixel's brand name. However, these watches will be using the similar program as Nexus phones, which is regarding collaboration with manufacturers. The partner manufacturers will also be working closely with hardware design and software integration.

In a conversation with the Verge, Jeff Chang, product manager of Android Wear at Google said after the official launch of the new Android Wear 2.0-based wearables, more manufacturers will be taking part in the program. The tech giant has plans to debut new wearables at CES 2017.

With the second innings of Android Wear Google wants to prove that it is still committed to promoting smartwatches. The company expects to woo consumers and boost the sales of Android Wear. As we know, smartwatch industry is crumbling as the consumers are not showing much love to the devices. That being the reason, LG and Motorola have not added any new device to their smartwatch lineup. Or maybe they will add more watches after the launch of Android Wear 2.0.
