Have you ever wondered buying internet on the internet? Tikona Digital Networks offers such a service, perhaps first of its kind in India.
How it works? All you need to do is click on “check service availability” button and enter your details and the PIN (postal index number) of the area where you stay. The website then checks if the customer area is under Tikona coverage. The green circles confirms Tikona service availability in your area.
The four compelling plans available are Bill Free Plan upto 2Mpbs, Bill Free Plan upto 4Mpbs, Unlimited Usage Plan and Bonus Usage Plan. You also have the choice to review the orders before making the payment.Tikona Digital Networks (TDN) is a wireless fixed broadband service provider. Apart from offering connectivity of up to 4mbps speed, it has always looked at having interesting ways to reach out to its new age customers for home and enterprise.
Now, net savvy customers have the comfort and convenience of buying TDN’s services on the internet for better connectivity. TDN’s services have been launched at a time when there is a growing trend among young professionals who spend a great deal of their time on the internet from pursuing online courses to planning holidays.

I have opted for a plan of 1249+taxes+1000 installation which provides 4mbps upto 15gb then 2mbps unlimited. But unfortunately I am getting only 600-700kbps. Tikona has definately made me a fool. I have wasted my money in it. I should have opted for MTNL Freedom 800 Plan which gives 512kbps in day & 2mbps at night UNLIMITED without FUP.
I suggest everyone who is not a resident of Delhi & Mumbai, should go for BSNL EVDO its wireless & available at 750RS/Month UNLIMITED without any FUP.

I was one of the impacted customers who used Tikona. Tikona no doubt uses a 4G technology, however their services and internet speed is is far worse than worst.
I was promised 1mbps unlimited for Rs 600, and was happy using it in the first three weeks. My nightmare started after the first month where the internet speeds gradually came down upto 30-40kbps from 1mbps…
Once in a while the speed would shhot up to 15 – 20 mbps and I was able to download movies with in a Loo break, but consistency is highly required for any operator to survive.
The tragedy continued and the speed used to be less than 100kbps most of the times. Used to get some good speed only after 12 in the night, which might not help every one.
After using it for a couple of months, i had to finally de-activate the connection due to heights of my frustration of not being able to complete any of my tasks may be office / persona, on time.
Decided to go ahead with a Local operator with a Wi-fi router abd opted for Beam networks and life has been peaceful since then..

@dskushwaha
bsnl commands over 65% of broadband connxs. be it rural or urban,so as far no one is giving competition in internet also bsnl is growing at faster rate than others in data services so give some credit to bsnl…..
Sudhakar June 4, 2012 at 7:04 am
Even BSNL gives only 768 Kbps upload speed in all plans of 1 Mbps or more. Very sad and frustrating.
Sudhakar June 4, 2012 at 6:35 am
ashokumar :
See, I am blaming MTNL and Tikona of giving only 512 Kbps as upload speed in all plans of more than 512 Kbps. It is waste. If there is a flaw in a technology, then why should they implement?.
There was no difference when I used 512 Kbps plan in BSNL where upload speed was near 512 Kbps and the download speed was also close to 512 Kbps when used seperately.
Seperately means when using upload, I did not download any file and when downloading, I did not upload any file..
If in 512 Kbps, the upload and download (when used seperately) is 512 Kbps, then why can’t the operators give 4 Mbps upload and 4 Mbps download speed or original speed each for upload and download (within FUP if there is FUP)?.
Think.
ashokumar June 3, 2012 at 8:18 pm
dear friend both the service providers are using ADSL technology that means “asynchronous digital subscriber line” , so there will be some difference between upload and download speeds, since it is a technological flaw, don’t blame the operators.

In rural India BSNL is the only option, there is no one to beat BSNL.

Kinshuk :
Well said.
Sudhakar June 2, 2012 at 7:32 am
To all :
Tikona’s upload speed will be more worse (1/5th the download speed or so). Please read all the small and tiny letters of the ‘TERMS AND CONDITIONS’ before subscribing.
MTNL only gives only 512 kbps upload speed for all plans with download speed 512 kbps or more. The upload speed will be only 512 kbps even if you subscribe to 4 Mbps connection !!!. BSNL gives 768 Kbps upload speed (but getting only 76 KB/s i.e., 608 kbps when attaching files to gmail) in all plans of 1 Mbps or more.
To all internet providers :
Please give same upload and download speed (not when using both simultaneously) for all the plans. For example : If you give 1 Mbps plan without FUP, then the upload speed must be 1 Mbps and the download must be 1 Mbps (when used seperately).

dont believe tikona internet. they are leaving guntur from 30 june. they are charging 550 as installation expenses and has leaving us without refunding.
Kinshuk June 1, 2012 at 8:59 pm
brands are coming for their own profit, not customers. this is normal. why expect anything else? are we all child?
if you want more for less go milk BSNL…
akhilesh June 1, 2012 at 8:35 pm
tikona is fully useless ..1st try it &
u will auto exit to its service
How & When & Where They will start 4G
tikona 4G will cover only 4Ciys in 4Year’s
Tikona’s current covrage is just like a Poor Company
Harish June 1, 2012 at 7:14 pm
Same here,i I paid on line and the website was showing my area under coverage, but when the guys came for installation, they say there is no network and the tree near my house was blocking the signal.how can one single tree block entire coverage while i stay on 21′st floor.insane reasoning and dont even refund the money back quicly.it took hours of calling to the dumb ass customer care and a threat of consumer court complain to get my money back after 13days.don’t ever go for this crap company.
Tan June 1, 2012 at 6:23 pm
They are cheater, they block port -25 (smtp port) so you cannot send mails using your corporate mail id. they want extra money to enable port-25.
and they do not mention this in any of their document/broucher.

i have a tikona connection of plan ADULH 512k………….it is 512 kbps plan …………but i hardly get………….200 kbps……………
Tamseel June 1, 2012 at 4:56 pm
Worse case in bangalore. They gave demo.. Said speed and availability was perfect. I paid the advance. Guy came for installation. Tried for 3 hours and said no feasibility.
Then it took more that 4 months to the payment back from tikona.. pathetic service.
Infact, I got my payment back only after I could reach their GM.
sachin sharma June 1, 2012 at 4:53 pm

I am using tikona. My plan is of 2mbps but i never got more then .1mbps speed. They dnt havr such technology called 4g. Tikona 1st satisfy ur old costomer then go for new one. Or change ur technical staff who dnt know how to solve technical problems. Tikona dosnt have professionals they jst have local gali chaaph engineers n they dnt knw how to solve problems. SO PLEASE GUYS NEVER GO FOR TIKONA.
