WhatsApp has finally rolled out the Quick Switch feature for Apple iOS devices in the latest 2.18.22 update. Quick Switch is a feature which was implemented by WhatsApp a couple of weeks ago for Android allows users to switch between a voice and video call or vice-versa without disconnecting the current call. This is one of the most requested features by WhatsApp users across the globe, and it's finally rolling out to Apple iPhones. If you want to use this feature, head over to App Store and download the latest update which brings this feature to your iPhone.
This feature is same as the one which was introduced for Android users. More recently, the same Quick Switch feature was rolled out to Windows Phone users and to be noted, iPhone users are the last ones to receive it, sadly.
Earlier, if a user wants to make a video call while on a voice call, they were forced to disconnect the current call and start a new video call separately. However, that is going to change now as WhatsApp is allowing users to switch between them with just a tap.
Here's the official changelog for WhatsApp Version 2.18.22 for iOS
- You can now easily switch between voice and video calls. Just tap the video button while you're on a call.
- You’ll now see the '@' button in group chats. Tap on it to quickly scroll to unread messages where you were replied to or mentioned.
Apart from the Quick Switch feature, WhatsApp also brought the '@' button to group chats, which allows a user to quickly scroll to unread messages where they replied or mentioned.
Both these features are very useful in real life, especially the Quick Switch. WhatsApp will also add the WhatsApp Sticker Store in the next update for both Android and iOS platforms. Also, the Facebook-owned company rolled out WhatsApp Payments feature to the iOS app recently.
