Vodafone Idea (Vi) has announced the expansion of its L900 and L2100 technologies to nearly 10,000 sites across 86 districts in Uttar Pradesh (8500 sites across 48 districts in UP East) and Uttarakhand. In an announcement on Tuesday, Vi said this upgrade is part of its strategy to enhance network infrastructure, backed by recent fundraising efforts, and aims to provide its users with faster data speeds and improved connectivity under the Vi GIGAnet brand.

Network Enhancements in UP East and UP West
Commenting on the development, Pravir Kumar, Operations Director at Vodafone Idea, said, "The deployment of L2100 and L900 is an important step in enhancing Vi's 4G network. In the coming months, we will continue to expand our network as well as bring relevant services and offerings to delight our customers."
Vodafone Idea noted that this network enhancement initiative is spread across UP East and UP West circles.

Focus on Punjab and Haryana
Earlier this month, Vi announced that it will focus on adding L900 and L2100 spectrum, aimed at enhancing indoor network experiences for its users across Punjab and Haryana. Currently, Vi covers 97.7 percent of the population in these two states.
At that time, Vi mentioned that over the past two years, it has invested in network improvements across Punjab and Haryana and has upgraded core networks to offer seamless service, be 5G ready, strengthen VoLTE architecture, and roll out VoWi-Fi.
