Vodafone has started offering 1GB 3G for just Rs 124 for all subscribers in Chennai & Tamil Nadu. Now both 2G and 3G rates for 1GB are equivalent in the state. Vodafone had earlier offered the same, but only to select customers. The move comes after Aircel and BSNL lowered 3G tariff to 2G level.

Vodafone also introduced double usage on select 3G packs to make it in par with 2G rates. Rs 249 pack now gives 1GB + 1GB, Rs 376 pack gives 1.5GB + 1.5GB and Rs 449 gives 2GB + 2GB for 28 days. All other packs remain unchanged.
