Vodafone India Slashes Data Charges by 80% for Prepaid and Postpaid Customers

Vodafone India today announced a massive 80% price cut in charges for its data customers in Karnataka, UP West and MPCG which will be further rolled out nationally in phased manner.

This rate would be applicable for all pre-paid and post-paid customers using 2G network on a ‘Pay as you Go’ basis. The rate cut from 10p/10KB to 2p/10KB will make internet access affordable for customers who use mobile internet in a limited way. These new charges are the lowest in market making them extremely attractive for all customers.

As part of its strategy to democratize data, Vodafone has been hand holding customers to use mobile internet and educating current and potential users about how internet can add significant value to them.

Vodafone India is also building content partnerships, simplifying pricing, educating retailers and offering choice to customer basis their interests and consumption patterns.

Yups, you are right. Yesterday I got a message from Airtel regarding reduction in Pay As You Go plan from 10p/10KB to 1p/10KB which is 90% reduction and its done both in Punjab and Haryana as of now and soon it will be done all over India. Good step by the companies to reduce it as sometimes I don’t have Internet pack to recharge my phone using mobile sites or apps. It takes around 200-350KB of data on mobile.
