Japanese smartphone brand, Sony is expected to announce three smartphones at the IFA 2017 event in Berlin. The three smartphones are expected to be the Sony Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact, and Xperia X1. The Xperia XZ1 will be the top variant amongst the three and is likely to arrive with a model number- Sony G8541.

Thanks to a new GFXBench listing, the Xperia XZ1 is now said to run the recently unveiled Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box when it goes official. The XZ1 is spotted running Android 8.0 Oreo when it was benchmarking.

The Xperia XZ1 will replace the Xperia XZs, and all the three smartphones are said to have a new camera technology, which will be touted as ‘full pixel continuous and shoot.’ Both the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact will feature high-end hardware, while the Xperia X1 will come with mid-range specs on board.

The GFXBench listing says that the XZ1 will likely come in two variants with different sizes. Sony might launch the device in a 6.2-inch display variant, and in a 12.3-inch display variant.

The listing also revealed the key specs of the Xperia XZ1. The smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM. The device will be backed by a generous 3000mAh battery.

As you can see, the device benchmarked has 128GB storage on board. Camera wise, the XZ1 is expected to have a 19MP rear camera, which can record 4K videos. The device is slated to arrive with a 13MP front-facing camera, which can also record 4K videos.

The highlight of this listing is the presence of Android 8.0 Oreo. Google recently released the Android O update to its Pixel and Nexus smartphones. It's always interesting to see which non-Google smartphone will first boot the latest operating system. Last year, it was the LG V20, and this year, we're expecting it to be the Xperia XZ1 or the Nokia 8 (which also got benchmarked with Android O lately).
