Samsung has officially announced its next-generation flagship tablet, Galaxy Tab S2, that offers top-of-the line hardware and a sleek metal body. It features a high-resolution Super AMOLED display with a squarish 4:3 aspect ratio, a 64-bit octa-core processor, a fingerprint sensor, and Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.

Samsung has released this tablet in two screen size variants – 8.0-inch and 9.7-inch – with Super AMOLED displays and a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. This tablet runs a newer version of TouchWiz that is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, and is powered by an 64-bit octa-core Exynos 5433 chipset, 2GB RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage space. Both of them will be available in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + Cellular variants. The thickness of the duo is merely 5.6mm, which makes them the thinnest tablets in the world, at least as of now.

A touch-based fingerprint sensor is used in this tablet instead of a swipe-based fingerprint sensor that was used in the Galaxy Tab S, which was released last year. Good thing is, Samsung is still offering a microSD card slot inspite of the company removing it from the Galaxy S6 and the upcoming Galaxy Note 5.
