The hacker group stated through its Twitter handle @AnonOpsIndia that Reliance Jio's mobile app was developed by Chinese developers. One of the tweets stated, "Over 500k mobile data taken by China made Reliance Jio app. Hosting by Chinese too."

Reliance Jio released a statement on Thursday claiming that it didn't compromise the privacy of its chat users. The statement also added that the app was developed by developers from all over the world, including India and China. These developers write comments within the Android Application Pack in their native languages sometimes, Jio stated.
