India’s leading telecom VAS provider “Spice Digital” recently uploaded its 139 RailInfo app on “GetJar” world’s biggest application store.
In an exclusive talk with Telecom Talk Spice Digital’s Technology team shared that 139 RailInfo is a mobile application for Indian Railways powered by Spice Digital. By sending a specially designed SMS, the product saves the user the tedious task of creating a long SMS description.
All the user has to do is to enter data in easy to use Mobile Interface!This service is currently available for Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, Aircel, MTNL, Tata, Reliance and Loop users and would be shortly available to BSNL users.
The RailInfo application has been developed on an in-house application development platform(MITR).It is carrier/operator agnostic -works across multiple carrier networks seamlessly.SMS 139 Application works across 300+ Devices covering platforms like Symbian , J2ME, Blackberry , Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Windows etc.
Functionality supported
The application runs on the SMS 139 service powered by Spice Digital,It provides the user easy access to the following services.
# PNR Enquiry
# Train Arrival / Departure
# Seat Availability
# Fare Enquiry
The application allows the user to find out information pertaining to Train Status, PNR Status, Availability of seats, and Fare Enquiry, for trains. The backend of the application is powered by Spice Digital’s SMS139 service. The application sends well formatted messages based on user form input and initiates a premium sms to the short code 139. The reply is received by the user in his SMS inbox.
The application doesn’t require GPRS to function, its completely based on SMS.
