Vodafone Post to Prepaid Talktime Transfer ServiceIndia's second largest mobile operator Vodafone India has announced a new customer-friendly service called "Post-to-Pre Talktime Transfer" service which will allow a postpaid customer to transfer balance talktime to a Vodafone prepaid subscriber.

The service - - ‘Post-to-Pre Talk time Transfer’ – has been launched in Mumbai, Maharashtra & Goa, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Chennai, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. This will be extended to other states in a phased manner, the company said in a statement.

This service will benefit post-paid users who have family members, domestic staff, friends or office staff using a pre-paid connection and in need of talktime (balance).

This follows a number of schemes launched by the company that includes ‘Chotta Credit’, ‘Pre-paid to Pre-paid Balance transfer’ and ‘Call Me back’ services.

“This latest initiative addresses a latent need within customers groups, thus enabling them in controlling spends and assuring uninterrupted service,” said Vodafone India Chief Commercial Officer Vivek Mathur.

To transfer balance to a pre-paid connection, subscriber has to dial *130# and follow an interactive menu. Alternatively, the balance can also be sent by dialling *130#*Amount*Recipient Number#.

Both donor and recipient will receive confirmation SMS after the transfer. Maximum and minimum amount per transaction is Rs 100 and Rs 50, respectively.

This service is applicable within the same circle. The facility allows a post-paid subscriber to make just one transaction per day, but a recipient can receive up to three transactions in a day.

The maximum amount that can be transferred from a single post-paid connection or received by a single pre-paid connection cannot exceed Rs 1,000 per month. A service fee of Rs 3 will be charged to the donor for the transaction, and corporate users are not eligible for this service.
