Microsoft might unveil Surface Mini Windows 8 tablet at an event on May 20

Microsoft’s attempt to grab the tablet market share with Surface tablet didn’t turn out successful but they have not lost confidence. As per the latest reports, Microsoft have started sending out invitations to a private press event in New York on May 20. The press invite mentions about “a small gathering”. Also the invitation had “Microsoft Surface” branding might hint towards a Surface Mini tablet. This tablet might be directly targeted towards Apple’s iPad Mini. Microsoft’s new CEO, Satya Nadella might preside over the event.

Rumours about a Surface tablet with 8.9 inch screen have been doing the rounds for quire some time now. People have been preferring 7 and 8 inch tablets over the 10 inch ones. Last year, almost all the brands selling tablet devices have released tablets with 7 to 9 inch screens such as Apple iPad Mini, Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 and LG G Pad 8.3. My view

MS o/s for surface tablet they released is high bloat ware – for example if you buy a 32 GB tablet you get 9 GB usable space. That’s a simple measure of high bloat ware

All these worked well for them until MS and Intel had tacit understanding (of accommodating the bloat ware)

Unless MS works on complete rework of Windows for tablets, their tablet dream (even with Nokia on their side now) is not likely to succeed

MS should pass on the windows software for tablet to micromax and xolo kind of people if they can not drop the price. The only way to remain in market is to cut the cost till 10-15k INR

Why the heal they are into manufacturing when they are not focusing on software updates like 8.1 which must hit market 1-2 years back.
