Micromax Canvas Tabby edutainment tablet launched for Rs 6,499

Smartphones and tablets becoming a quintessential part of our lives. So it is not surprising when see them being used for purposes other than entertainment. Education is one area where tablets are becoming increasingly important and OEMs have started to realize this. Micromax has just launched the Canvas Tabby edutainment tablet aimed at kids in the country for Rs 6,499. It doesn't cost a fortune and aims to become an integral part of a child's development.

The Canvas Tabby has a parent-use mode and a kids-use mode. As the name suggests, the former mode will let you use all the capabilities of the tablet and the latter would be aimed at kids  for learning new things under parental controls. Micromax is aiming to engage the whole family with this new tablet with its dual modes.

The kids mode has content from a company called Educren which specializes in providing content for kids.It has over 100 pre-loaded apps for kids with access to over 500 videos for facilitating creativity and providing entertainment. The content and operating system has been tweaked specially for kids between the ages of 2 to 8. Parents can set age-specific content and time limits for the kids for using the tablet.   • Dual SIM, 3G with voice calling, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS for connectivity
  • 3,200mAh battery

The Micromax Canvas Tabby has been made available in white colour only and will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting June 22 for three weeks. Post that, it will become readily available across other online and offline retail chains.
