Micromax, the Indian juggernaut in the smartphone arena, has been facing the heat from Xiaomi Redmi 2, Lenovo A6000 and Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen) in the sub-Rs. 8,000 price segment. Motorola even launched the 4G LTE variant of the Moto E (2nd Gen) today, further pushing Micromax in a tight spot. However, looks like Micromax is not going to sit around and let others take its share of the pie. The company has already launched a whole new brand – YU – and is also gearing up to launch a new device.

Micromax-Canvas-Spark

The next device to join the Canvas line-up of smartphones will be the Micromax Canvas Spark. The company has just teased the device on social media, which will be launched exclusively on Snapdeal. The Indian OEM, however, has not revealed any details about the device. If a report from TOI Tech is to be believed, the Canvas Spark will be a sub-Rs 6,000 smartphone, and will hit the launchpad in the last week of April. It will be sold through the fast catching up 'Flash Sales' model in the country.

The good folks back at AndroidOS have further confirmed through their sources that the smartphone will be powered by the popular MT6582 quad-core chipset that can be found in almost every budget quad-core smartphone. It will come with a 4.7-inch display and will run Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the box. It will be a dual-SIM device like majority of the budget handsets out there and will also feature a microSD card slot of memory expansion. Other details aren't known as of now but expect them to be uncovered in the coming few days.
