LG was one of the first smartphone brands to offer Android 5.0 Lollipop update to an existing device. LG G3 started receiving the Lollipop update internationally in November, which was extended to India in December last year. However, there were no signs of its predecessor receiving the update.

Now, LG India has officially announced that the G2 will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop in Q2 of this year. The company has revealed this information as a reply to a query on Twitter. A couple of months back, some screenshots and videos were leaked showcasing the LG G2 running Android Lollipop.

Among other devices, LG has pushed Android 5.0 update to the L90 Dual in the country. Samsung and Motorola are the only other brands who have rolled out the sweetest version of Android to a wide range of devices. Sony has just started rolling out the Lollipop goodness to its high-end devices such as the Xperia Z3, the Xperia Z3 Compact, and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.
