Lava Iris 503 and Iris 352e launched for Rs 8,990 and Rs 4,290

Lava is one of the premium makers of budget and mid-range smartphones. Latest news is that the company has now launched its two new devices in the market. These smartphones have been named Lava Iris 503 and Lava Iris 352e. They are available at the price of Rs. 8,990 and Rs. 4,290 respectively. Let us have a quick look at some of the major features of these two smartphone devices:

Lava Iris 503

Lava-Iris-503

  • It sports a capacitive touch display of 5 inches with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels.
  • It has been powered by a dual core processor of 1.2 Giga Hertz.
  • It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
  • It comes with a 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal memory and up to 32 GB expandable memory.
  • It features a rear camera of 5 mega pixels with auto focus, LED flash and BSI sensor. It also comes with a front facing camera of 1.2 mega pixels.
  • It offers connectivity features, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G.
  • It has been equipped with a battery of 2000 mAh battery.

Lava Iris 352e

Lava-Iris-352e

  • It sports a capacitive touch display of 3.5 inches with 320 x 480 pixels resolution.
  • It has been powered by a dual core processor of 1 Giga Hertz.
  • It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system.
  • It comes with a 256 MB RAM, 512 MB internal memory and up to 32 GB expandable memory.
  • It features a rear camera of 2 mega pixels and front facing camera of 0.3 mega pixels.
  • It offers connectivity features, such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 2G.
  • It has been equipped with a battery of 1450 mAh.

Our Take: Both the devices are pretty decent in terms of features as well as price. But the point is that there’s nothing compelling enough in either of them to give them an edge over the competition. You can get other budget quad core devices for the price of the Iris 503 but the cheaper sibling, the Iris 352e surely puts a decent case forward in its favour.

To all :

Good replacement and alternate to the slum lava iris 503 : Samsung Note 2 N7100 (3G only) or N7105 (3G and 4G).
Better buy Samsung N7100 itself. It will get 4.3 update soon.

All the other specs are ok but still 256mb ram and 512mb ram are simply laughable for a device running android 4.2.Instead of this what i believe is that manufacturers like mmx karbonn etc can release a device powered by 786mb ram,a good dual core processor, and a display of 900*540 running android 4.4 as its much more memory optimised and has a boat load of tweaks to run smoothly on low end devices.I am pretty sure that if samsung and sony release a device with a dual core processor like snapdragon s4 plus couple with 786mb ram and running android… Read more »

I said about the OTG feature in general. Read properly. The third class company (lava, g-five, karbonn, micromax, xolo) copy the design of the branded company (Nokia, Samsung, Sony etc) handsets in a shameless manner. Can you point out a single handset (in general) in all the third class companies that have all the following features? : > Dual, tri or quad band 3G > AMOLED with corning gorilla glass display > Carl zeiss camera lens > Xenon flash > USB OTG > Extended 1 year paid warranty (can be extended only once for every handset) for the handset* alone… Read more »

I think Nokia N8 cost over 17k + and N7100 costs over 25k… Once other manufacturers release phones above 25k, we will see the result

Instead of buying many third class mobiles, it is better to spend a bit more on quality rather than thinking about money money and money, cheap cheap and cheap. Do you think Samsung N7100 price will come down to Rs.15000?. Never.

Always see the facilities to price ratio rather than always looking at the price alone.

For me quality is important based on the above factor.

Note that I will even criticize the branded companies if they make slum phones.

there are some people who want quality. There are also people who use cheap phones for small period and throw them away.
Its like people buying a bajaj pulsar. They knw it can be used for only 1 year but it will be max fun when it goes right.

I am talking about mobiles and not pens. You have told that some people use mobiles as pen and throw them. Where?. In the earth itself?. Have you thought of earth’s environment before posting?.

Use and throw – a senseless, anti environment concept. Damn it.
