In-depth Analysis of Telenor India 4G Plans across all it’s operational circles

Since the beginning of its journey in India, the troubled telco Telenor has been offering sabse sasta packs in all it’s operational circles. It’s worth to mention that the telco has been offering services at it’s maximum potential to any consumer in all possible segments and quickly became a most preferred secondary operator in circles it operates.

Despite the challenging market scenarios, Telenor still offers very lucrative 4G packs to consumers. I will now discuss in depth of what Telenor 4G has packed in for consumers.

SIM Swap: Customer needs a 4G SIM to enjoy Telenor’s 4G services. Like any other SIM swap, one just needs to swap their 2G SIM for a 4G SIM and activation happens asap.

Night Usage Timing:  Well, I can say a perfect definition of night usage timing from a teleco.

Enjoy 0p/20KB which is free night usage between the night time slot available in your circle. Unlike night usage definition from other telecos, these timings were crafted with an intention of consumer usage in mind.

Overview of key benefits along with data across all the circles:

  1. Unlimited Night Internet – (Timing is an asset)
  2. All Local calls @ 1p/sec
  3. 500 Local/STD minutes
  4. All Local/STD calls @ 25p/min
  5. All Local @ 25p/min & STD calls at 30p/min
  6. Talk time in few cases

Complete details of benefits of all the 27 4G recharge packs available on Telenor:

I experienced very good/consistent speeds on Telenor all across the places where I’m able to latch on to 4G.

Band Details : AP Circle Specific

Frequency Band : 3 / 1800Mhz Band  – Telenor deployed Lean LTE on this band
Download Bandwidth: 3MHz
Upload Bandwidth: 3MHz
Voice functionality : Voice falls back to 2G from 4G/LTE. FYI: There is no 3G service available.

In what Telenor calls it as the fastest network upgrade, all its BTS which serve 2G now also serve 4G/LTE. So, where ever you have 2G signal of Telenor, you can enjoy LTE as well.

Our Take :

To those users who enjoy Telenor’s services, definitely a very much value for money packs especially considering the night usage benefit one can enjoy if you are a night owl. The internet speeds are also consistent and more than the speed itself I can say reliable in a word. Dear readers, are you enjoying Telenor’s 4G services? If so do share us your experiences via comments or tweet me @Srikapardhi.

Note: Manual efforts are involved to get the data analytics done. May or may not contain errors. Do check with CC of respective circle before subscribing to any of the plans discussed above. In case of any errors please do let me know via comments so that I can correct them. Data taken from respective operator’s website. Data : As available at the time of procuring the inputs.

You mean I can use Telenor 4G in my city with 2G coverage where it’s 4G is not officially launched yet???

You have to visit any mobile shop that sells SIMs. Fill a form and pay the fee. Your old 2G SIM will be replaced with a new 4G SIM. Aircel is presently giving cheapest rate so I am not switching to any other service. However, all operators do not provide good network and speed in all areas. You have to find the telco that works best in your area.

Can’t believe what i see, Telenor if giving 11 mbps 5times more than Jio.
I wish they could n operate in Delhi Circle someday.

Dude, I know Jio gives 9mbps INDOORS in MPCG circle. It’s double that outdoors. I am however very happy that Telenor has managed to implement lean GSM solution properly, so unlike a bunch of other operators, you get Telenor 4G wherever they have a 2G tower. Only RCom/Jio can manage this, so these two are actually leading in 4G LTE coverage.

jio speed depends on area and load on it , in my area in gwalior jio is giving max only 10-100KB/s in IDM

LOL yea. only a few Pappus get 25 mbps on Jio & beat the drums all over India that Jio is good & you probably live in some slums.

FYI I don’t use Jio, my access is through friends’ phones. I don’t have plans of changing my numbers between Airtel, Docomo and RCom. But I have to see and accept the reality. I am getting very good speeds, and that too in areas where competitors barely have a functional 2G network.

All 2g sites covers 4g too??

November 10, 2016 1:36 pm 1:36 PM

What are you trying to ask or point?

November 11, 2016 7:04 am 7:04 AM

All 2g sites do not provides 4g signal

November 11, 2016 8:37 am 8:37 AM

Sir, that was a claim by Telenor, not author. If you follow TT you will know Telenor has announced that Network swapping some time back. If you don’t know about tower deployment learn it. It’s not like every tower where 2G is fitted with equipment have the feasibility to set up 4G. there are some radiation levels and coverage differences between 2G/4G and as per the distribution methods almost 99% of the sites will be swapped 2G to 4G. Don’t know why all people who don’t know complete picture come and try to show off in comments.
