Back in September 2016, Idea launched its online movie streaming application called the Idea Movie Club to compete with the likes of JioCinema and Wynk Movies from Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. Well, Idea lags behind the competition by a huge margin as the company offers just 80 Live TV channels and limited movie collection.
In recent times, operators are promoting their services in a unique manner and Idea is no exception. The India’s third largest telecom operator is giving 512MB of free data along with one month free subscription to customers who download the application and use it for the first time.
However, there are a few catches with the offer. The free data offer is valid only for the Idea subscribers and not for others. Also, the free data will be credited manually by the company one to two hours after downloading and using the app. The free data will be valid for five days.
That being said, several Android users of the application in Google Play Store claimed that Idea is not providing any free data on using the app. But, some other users have reported that Idea is crediting the data however it is taking some time to issue the free data. Some users even received the data after two days from the date of download, which is underwhelming.
Idea is offering the service for free for all the users who subscribed the trail before March 31 for three months, and now Idea users should have a data pack to access the services.
Idea Cellular also claims that it will be coming with a super small Rs. 5 per day pack to offer the content free for one complete day along with a mega-saver pack and semi-annual pack for users who loves to watch content online.
Besides the Idea Movie Club, the operator also has other content services such as Idea Music Lounge and Idea Game Spark for music and game lovers.
