Du Deploys Three-Carrier Aggregation Technology for Fixed Wireless Access in UAE

UAE Telecom, du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), has announced that it has commenced the deployment of multi-carrier aggregation technologies within its commercial wireless network. Du has announced that the implementation of this new technology will enable its network to deliver three times faster data speeds focused on fixed wireless home broadband services to its users in UAE.

du's FWA Network Enhancement

du, has stated the deployment of advanced multi-carrier aggregation technology in its commercial wireless network. This move is set to bring about a transformative shift in network speeds and user experience for its Home wireless services (Fixed Wireless Access - FWA).

Triple Carrier Integration

du's technology deployment involves the integration of three carriers, each with a bandwidth of 100 MHz, within the 3.5 GHz (C-Band) and 2.6 GHz bands. According to du, this aggregation promises to deliver data speeds three times faster than the existing offerings.

Futuristic Use Cases

In anticipation of increasing bandwidth demands driven by emerging technologies like AI, 8K video streaming, and UHD cloud gaming, du's multi-carrier aggregation initiative is aligned with its popular Home wireless services. In 2021, du launched its FWA services in the UAE, quickly becoming popular among users.

Du emphasized that multi-carrier aggregation is a proven method to boost wireless network throughputs and reflects the company's dedication to UAE's technological evolution.

First to Introduce Technology

du was the first operator in UAE to introduce 4G based Home Wireless service and was also the first telco to introduce 5G based Home Wireless services. Now, the company is set to deploy advanced 5G home wireless services with the deployment of 3CC technology, capable of supporting AI, metaverse experiences, XR gaming, and virtual meetings.

Exploration of Technology
